It's Time for Cake!
Afterall, who doesn't LOVE cake? And I LOVE this layout by Design Team Member Heather. We all have those moments when we have several photos of just one event that we want to include on a page, and just cannot decide to cut any of them out, so a two-pager is definitely called for to fit all those photos on one great project!
Supplies: Bazzil Cardstock, American Crafts pp, MM stitches yarn, American Crafts sticker letters (simply chic), K.I. Memories fuzzy felt sticker letters (surprise), ymbd.etsy.com journaling tags, misc Cherry Arte punch outs

Where have I been you ask?
Well, the last week has been a super busy one for me. If you've visited my shop lately and ready my shop announcement, you already know why. For those of you who have been sat here wondering why I haven't blogged in over a week, I'll tell you....
My husband and I have been registered as foster parents for quite some time now, with the hopes of adopting in the future. We have been waiting for the perfect "placement" to be presented to us and it finally happened last week and very quickly too. As of the 22nd of April, I've been a proud foster mommy to a little 3 year old girl! This is our first child, so as you can imagine it's been quite the adjustment for us.
I have taken a few weeks off from the shop (although orders can still be placed, they will not be shipped until the week of May 12th) so I can dedicate all my time to getting to know this little stranger that has come into our lives. I think she deserves to have my full attention at the moment, and although it's been a lot of work (and I'm totally exhausted), it's so worth it! We love her so much already.

Earth Day - Recycle It Challenge!
Tuesday, April 22nd is Earth Day. We may not always be 100% diligent when it comes to recycling, but I know most of us try! And that's what counts. Because every little bit, really does help!
And this month at YMBD, we are combining scrapbooking with recycling and a challenge for a prize! How cool is that?
Check out Meg's "Recycle It" chalenge here, to help get those green thumbs inspired and show us what you got!

Which also makes it easier for me to offer some great contests & challenges with PRIZES!!!
Two of which are currently running right now: it's as easy as registering, chatting and sharing some pics for your chance to win! But ballots are limited so hurry and get your creative little booties over to the forum and start participating!

What a Wonderful World!
Created by Design Team Member Megan
And what a wonderful layout! Love Meg's use of the Symbolism Tags from my shop. She altered them to coordinate with her layout, and strategically placed them to add emotion to her title. I love the design of this element, the layering of papers and embellishments and how the main focus still remains the photo. Thanks for sharing this with us Meg!
Supplies: Papers (Teresa Collins and Creative Imaginations), Letters (American crafts and making memories), Coaster embellishments (imagination project), Envelope flap and stamp (misc), Symbolism Tags (ymbd.etsy.com)

No Photos? No problem... A challenge & a RAK!
Because I don't have children, I find sometimes I lack photos to scrap. Afterall, I can only do so many pages about myself, my husband, and our pets! So sometimes, I like to use my scrapbooks as a sort of "journal" and I scrap without photos! Yeah, I know... a weird concept, afterall scrapbooking was born as a way to preserve our photographs.
But my "photoless" pages have been some of my favorites, and they really allow you to play with embellishments and colors without having to worry about coordinating them with a photo.
My challenge to you: Create a layout with NO photos! Use only paper/cardstock & embellishments, and of course some journaling! Post links to your layouts here by Sunday, April 13th, and on Monday I will choose a winner to receive a fabulous YMBD goody pack full of embellishments to help you with your next photoless layout!
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
